Hello! I’m Alexcea and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. My degree specialization was child and adolescent counseling, where I focused uniquely on trauma-informed therapy. I completed my internship at Denton County Friends of the Family where I offered such care to children, adolescents, adults, and groups.
I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan who are impacted by trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, life transitions, peer relationship conflicts, emotional dysregulation, and low self-esteem. My goal is to create a space where empathy, trust, and safety are the cornerstones of the therapeutic process. I believe these are the necessary conditions for children and adolescents alike to share their inner world and seek support.
I have training in child-centered Play Therapy, Activity/Expressive Arts Therapy, Child and Parent Relationship Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. I explore parent/child relationship concerns with parents and provide resources for support and tools to improve relationships. I am passionate about providing culturally competent, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent affirming approaches to counseling.
I provide a range of sliding scale options and have flexible weekday scheduling.
