Mariana Ormeno--Supervised by Irais Anderton, PhD

Hello! My name is Mariana Ormeño and my pronouns are she/her/ella. I am an intern and am supervised by Dr. Irais Anderton Chavez. I have completed my Bachelor of Psychology with a secondary area of specialization in Latin American Border studies. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University (TWU). I strive to empower clients through a relational, multicultural and intersectional feminist perspective. Additionally, I emphasize mindfulness and self-compassion based practices to enhance my clients’ views of self.
As a clinician, I hope to bring a genuine sense of hope and optimism for my clients. My primary goal is to prioritize genuine and authentic connections where trust and safety are the foundation of all therapeutic relationships. I am also bilingual, speaking Spanish and English, offering services in these languages as well. I am passionate about working with individuals of different backgrounds, people across the lifespan, and those of underserved communities.
In my free time, I love creating all types of art. Music, painting, poetry, and any ways I can express myself invokes joy in my life. I also love to read, travel as much as I can, and learn about different cultures.
