Hi! I’m Natasha (she/her), and I’m a practicum therapist at Lotus. I received my B.S. in Psychology from UT Arlington and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University, where I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology.
I take a multicultural, relational, feminist, and strengths-based approach to therapy. My style is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in genuine connection, often using warmth, humor, and introspective conversation to support healing and growth. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to work toward meaningful change.
As a first-generation student, child of immigrants, and cisgender woman who grew up in an Indian-Caribbean (Guyanese) household, I understand how cultural expectations, stigma, and unspoken family narratives shape how we learn to cope and show up in relationships. These experiences inform my commitment to affirming clients’ cultural identities and helping them reconnect with their authentic voice.
Clinically, I have experience working with adults and young adults navigating:
• Anxiety, depression, and mood concerns
• Trauma histories (including intergenerational, cultural, racial, and family-of-origin trauma)
• Relationship and attachment challenges
• Identity development and self-esteem
• Grief and life transitions
• Burnout, body image concerns, and inner-critic patterns
I am especially passionate about working with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC); immigrants and children of immigrants; first-generation students; and individuals exploring bicultural identity, relational patterns, or the impact of growing up in high-expectation or emotionally reserved environments. I strive to hold space for those from marginalized, underserved, and historically oppressed communities, including LGBTQIA+ clients.
My clinical interests focus on how family dynamics, cultural narratives, and early relational experiences shape our present well-being. I help clients understand protective parts of themselves, rewrite limiting narratives, and build practical tools for coping and growth. I bring cultural knowledge and familiarity with Caribbean, Black, Hispanic/Latine, South Asian, East Asian, Pacific Islander, and Middle Eastern communities.
My goal is to show up with warmth, curiosity, and collaboration as we work together in ways that feel supportive, authentic, and meaningful to you.
