It’s a pleasure to meet you! My name is Salvador Elias and I’m a counseling intern at Lotus Counseling. I have a bachelor’s degree of communication studies from the University of North Texas and I'm pursuing my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at my Alma Mater.
I aim to create a safe space that fosters connection, vulnerability, and support. I currently approach counseling from the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) lens which allows us to focus on any harmful or negative thought patterns, behaviors, and emotions and develop practical coping strategies to improve emotional regulation and problem-solving skills. I currently work with adult individuals, couples, and families in navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, family dynamics, intimacy concerns, and communication skills. As the son of two Mexican immigrants, I also understand the importance of culture and the value of multicultural counseling and work diligently to create a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds and identities.
Regardless of the presenting concern, our sessions will be tailored to you and your needs to allow for improvement in mood, functioning, and overall mental health.
